Collingwood enigma Jordan De Goey has been hit with a one-match suspension for rough conduct in his ‘dump’ tackle on Geelong megastar Patrick Dangerfield.

AFL match review officer Michael Christian on Sunday released his charges from the three AFL games played on Saturday, which included the offer of a one-game ban for De Goey.

Early in the last quarter of the Pies’ drama-filled 13-point loss, De Goey grabbed hold of Dangerfield in the middle, rotating him in an attempt to bring him to ground before dumping the Cats gun into the turf, his head hitting the surface.

It’s a manoeuvre the MRP is determined to stamp out.

The MRO assessed the incident as careless conduct, medium impact and high contact.

Dangerfield was uninjured in the tackle and was able to get up and take a free kick.

With an early plea, De Goey will miss Collingwood’s round four clash with the Eagles at Marvel Stadium.

However, the club could challenge the suspension at the AFL tribunal this week.

Brisbane ruckman Oscar McInerney also copped a one-match ban for striking North Melbourne‘s Tristan Xerri.
