Police have made eight arrests following a demonstration by farmers outside the home of nature minister Christianne van der Wal.
A group of farmers gathered outside the minister’s house in Hardewijk last Tuesday despite pleas by politicians on all sides not to call on politicians at home. Demonstrators broke threw a police cordon, attacked a police van with sledgehammers and steel piles and emptied a slurry tank across the road.
Police posted 11 photographs of people involved in the violence and said they would reveal their faces unless they came forward.
One person is still being sought, while eight of the other 10 were arrested after handing themselves in. They include a 33-year-old man from Kootwijkerbroek and a 24-year-old man from Barneveld who are accused of public disorder and vandalism.
